How to Remove Hard Water Stains from Glass Shower Doors Naturally
We all love a clean shower with clear, sparkling glass doors. However, soap and water, especially in areas with hard water, can leave stains on your glass doors and spoil the pristine look of your shower. Don't worry! You can easily and quickly bring back the shine to your glass doors using natural ingredients you already have at home. Don't let soap scum or hard water build up over time, as it can become unhygienic, attracting bacteria and germs. Here, we provide you with simple recipes and tips to effectively remove hard water and soap stains from your glass shower doors – and they're all natural! Common reasons for dirty doors: Hard water and soap can build up on glass over time if not cleaned. Cleaning options:
Clean with white vinegar to remove hardwater and soap
We really like using natural cleaning products, especially ones that are already in your home, and vinegar is one of our favorites. You can use vinegar for many cleaning tasks. It works well and doesn't harm your health, unlike some commercial cleaning products that have harmful chemicals.
What you will need:
White vinegar
Bathroom (or multipurpose) squeegee
Sponge
Spray bottle
Dish soap
Method:
Pour a good amount of white vinegar – enough to cover the entire glass surface – into the spray bottle. For even better results, add a few drops of dish soap and mix it.
Spray the mixture on both sides of the glass doors. Let it sit for about 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing it with water and cleaning it with the sponge. After that, use your squeegee to wipe away the water until your glass is dry.
Lemon also can do a great job, too
You can also use lemon to make your glass shower doors look great.
What you’ll need for shiny glass shower doors:
Lemon juice
Spray bottle
Bathroom (or multipurpose) squeegee
Method:
Pour the lemon juice into the spray bottle and spray it on both sides of the glass doors. Let it sit for about 10 minutes. Rinse off the lemon juice and dry the doors using your squeegee vertically.
Try toothpaste as another option.
Surprisingly, toothpaste can also work as a cleaning agent – but make sure it’s the cheapest type, as some ingredients can cause harm.
What you’ll need:
Toothpaste
Sponge
Bathroom (or multipurpose) squeegee
Method:
Dampen your sponge with water and apply a generous amount of toothpaste on it. Then, rub it on the surface of the glass on both sides.
Once you are satisfied that you have removed the grime, rinse with water and dry the glass using your squeegee.
How to maintain clean glass shower doors
The easiest way to keep your glass doors clean for a longer time is to put a little liquid soap on a sponge or cleaning cloth and wipe them after each shower.
You can also use a squeegee to wipe the doors, so water doesn't stay and build up over time.
